mind-bottled

I am a bit disappointed in myself for letting precious time slip away. There are loads of projects I want/need to get done but I just have not found the motivation. Frankly, I am just lazy, and watching Everybody Loves Raymond from 5:30 to 7:00pm is not how I anticipated spending my evenings after work.
Aside from putting away wedding gifts (that are still in boxes) and doing the everyday cleaning/organizational duties of an apartment renter (suck), there are several paintings I've had in mind that I'd like to do for myself and others.
To minimize my brain-clutter, I made a list (on paper so I don't forget) of randome thoughts and things that inspire me so that later I would be able to make basic sketches before I began to paint.

A few inspirational themes:

(obvious)

I should really say the Eiffel Tower back-slash Paris, in general

Ballet dancers

I also really love owls, but only in the stylized sense. The actual creature kind of freaks me out. Any-hoo...

On to something more important: the Office season premier-TONIGHT!

oopsies/ghosties

So, a few posts down I mentioned that something awesome was going to happen in September and didn't want to give away too much because I didn't want to jinx it. Well, I think I jinxed it.
Tyler Read was supposed to leave next week for a label showcase in NYC and to record demos for one reason or another-I've never understood the music industry (and don't plan on it) and I don't get many details from Chris.
Anyhow, on top of being pumped for the band, I thought this would be an opportunity to sneak in a little vacay time for myself. I had even already discussed Manhattan must-see spots with Brooke, the other precious band wife.
Now it turns out the band will only play the planned showcase and return back home, which means no QT with NYC.
But, I suppose the good news is that if all goes well with the showcase, the boys have a chance at being signed to a major(?) label.

But enough about that.

If I could meet anyone in the world, do you know who it would be? Ricky Gervais.
That man is a genius.
I probably don't know the extent of work he's done in the past, but my obvious favies are:

Rule #1. If you haven't seen the BBC version (the original) of the Office, then we aren't allowed to be friends. And although Michael Scott has won my heart over (and over again), this show makes my heart sing.

Rule #2. If you watched the series finale for both the Office (BBC) and Extras and didn't cry, you have no soul. You aren't human. Go get a heart.

Needless to say, I cannot wait for Ghost Town.
It seems a bit corny, but I'm hoping Ricky and Greg make me proud.

hearts.

uppidy-date

If I was a celebrity, and you read Perez Hilton, you would know everything there is to know about me.
But I'm not, and you don't, so I'm left with the task of updating the 3 of you on my life as of late.

Since the last time I updated, I've had several weird dreams involving airports, planes that look like cruise ships, and me giving the go-ahead to Chris that it's "ok" to date my friends while we're married.

Oh, I'm married! As far as I can remember, the wedding was perfect...except when the priest called me Kelly. And even that didn't bother me, not even the damn rain. Oh, and the band referred to us as Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Turner upon our entrance to the reception, ha! But, I suppose those are the details that made it memorable. I'm not saying I wouldn't have remembered the day I got married if it weren't for those instances, but, you know what I mean.
Maybe I can elaborate about details and post photos on a later date, but I'm still trying to remember everything...what a blur, man.

In other news, Chris surprised me with an iPhone! Dude, I know. I was doing just fine with my Blackberry, but seriously, I don't know how I survived all these years without this little nugget of Apple genius. Chris could see my jealousy and felt guilty he was living the life of luxery with his 3G, so of course he had to get one for his wifey.

*Note: It's only appropriate to match if you're married.

I think it's also important to note that we might have moved on from the Golden Retriever phase (unfortunately). We would really love a large dog of that sort, but finding room for him in our itty bitty space would just be cruel. He would need lots of room to grow and play! So, perhaps a little Morrison will find his way to our home, once we have a house.
Our other doggy option is a Westie:

I think this little bucket of sunshine will be the perfect fit for us, one day.

I'm world's worst writer.
